Château Coutet is one of the oldest wineries in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux. The history of the winery as a wine estate began in 1643. In 1643, Charles Le Guerin became the owner of the estate, and under his management the estate became one of the first vineyards in the Sauternes appellation. The original meaning of Coutet is "knife", and it is characterized by its strong and sharpness. President of the United States and wine connoisseur Thomas Jefferson has commented that Coutet's liqueurs are the best in Barsac.

Chateau Coutet 2013, Straw color (still in barrel), the nose has lovely aromatic notes of tropical fruit, such as lychee, mango, and pineapple, followed by aromas of quince, toasted almonds and acacia flowers. mThe palate is round and smooth with a good balance between freshness and fullness. This wine distinguishes mitself by a good density and remarkable finesse. The finish is long, with its vivacity and its power. Overall, this vintage is marked by its elegance.z
