Chateau Angelus is not far from the landmark of the clock tower in St Emilion, beside the famous pied de cote slope. Chateau Angelus is the result of the four generations of Bouard de Laforest's hard work. The history of the winery can be traced back to the beginning of the last century. After that, the Bouard de Laforest family slowly increased the area of the winery bit by bit, and then it has today's scale. The winery is currently managed by Hubert de Bouard de Laforest.

Chateau Angelus is one of the first-class wineries in the Saint-Emilion region. It covers an area of 58 acres. The upper soil is a clay-lime layer, and the sandy lime layer is located next to the hillside. It is mainly planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. In addition to using traditional methods to make wine, Chateau Angelus also continuously improves its winemaking techniques to achieve perfection in every harvest and brewing. Therefore, it enjoys a high evaluation among wine critics and wine customers. Chateau Angelus and Pavie were promoted to Grand A-level winery in the latest Saint-Emilion appraisal in 2012.

==================

This 2011 vintage is a second class wine with an elegant oakiness. The dark plum, raspberry and red currant fruit has a very sleek feel, lending a forward profile to the wine. Shows well-coiled grip underneath, with dark tobacco and briar hints echoing through the finish and emerging more with aeration. Should expand with cellaring. Carillon d'Angélus has a true identity, velvety tannins, freshness, and a nice length. A second wine with a well-defined style!

This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
