Description

Château Angélus is a famous wine estate located in the Saint-Emilion region, northeast of Bordeaux. The property is located in a coveted location to the west of the town of Saint-Emilion, on a gentle south-facing slope on the Saint-Emilion plateau. It produces a luxurious, long-lived Merlot-Cabernet Franc wine that is often highly praised by critics. The grand wine is aged in new oak barrels for approximately 18 months before bottling. It then ages in bottle for at least five years before being released, but can be aged for longer as Angélus' concentration, weight and structure often allow the wine to evolve over decades.

Chateau Angelus 2021 is unprecedented purity and finesse, unwinding in the glass with compelling aromas of plums, raspberries, rose petals, vine smoke, blood orange and warm spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and layered palate with a rich and fleshy core that entirely conceals its structuring chassis of ultra-refined tannins. Bright and sapid, it's striking for its integration and elegance at this early stage.
