The vineyards of Carruades de Lafite are located in Pauillac in the Bordeaux region of France, adjacent to the vineyards of Château Lafite Rothschild, and are the second wine of Lafite Rothschild. The soil of the vineyard is rich and varied, mainly composed of limestone, sand and gravel, these characteristics help grape growth and provide high-quality wine raw materials. Carruades de Lafite has a smaller vineyard area and is planted to the same varieties as Château Lafite Rothschild, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

The wines of Carruades de Lafite generally display the elegance and nuanced style of Château Lafite Rothschild, although in some ways they may be a little lighter and easier to drink. These wines have complex aromas of black fruits, tobacco, vanilla and vanilla. Their tannins are soft and balanced, their mouthfeel is round, and they have some aging potential.
