The Macallan Lead Whisky Maker, Euan Kennedy, and the Roca brothers, owners of El Celler de Can Roca, went in search of the essence of the global city that has managed to re-imagine the possibilities of the public space, mixing ancient tradition with startling modernity.

The whisky is inspired by the journey of Euan Kennedy, The Macallan Lead Whisky Maker, who has translated it into a unique whisky that captures the energy and complexity of the city. The menu draws inspiration from Joan Roca's immersion in the dynamic, cosmopolitan essence of Hong Kong, a city in perpetual evolution.

The vibrant royal blue was chosen as it reflects the blue waters that surround Hong Kong. The beautifully detailed art print by Pat Wong (aka Flyingpig, the assistant professor in the Academy of Visual Art, Hong Kong Baptist University (BUAVA) includes elements of nature and community spirit, values which are instilled within The Macallan.

This whisky captures the energy and complexity of Hong Kong. It is a symphony of flavours, with rich intensity from ginger, spice and antique oak, balanced by the tropical vibrancy of mango and grapefruit. Each layer contributes to a rich and multifaceted experience that mirrors the city's dynamic nature.
