Chateau Giscours was rated as a third-class manor by Medoc in 1855. It was called a "mermaid" by the world because the wine label was a golden mermaid image. Chateau Giscours is located in the top wine-producing region Margaux. It is one of the largest wineries in the Medoc region and one of the largest wineries in the Bordeaux region.


Chateau Giscours has a total area of ​​300 hectares, of which 94 hectares are vineyards located in the Margaux region. 25% of the vines are more than 40 years old. Vineyard soil is gravel alluvial soil, limestone and clay. The soil has good drainage performance, which is very conducive to the growth of vines and the ripening of fruits. The traditional brewing process is used to add flavor to the wine. Chateau Giscours is fermented in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature for 18-28 days according to the year, and the fermentation temperature is 26-28℃. After that, it is aged in oak barrels for 15-18 months, and the oak barrels are renewed at a rate of 50 per year. -80%, depending on the year, then use egg white for clarification. La Sirene de Giscours which is the second label, uses only 50% new oak barrels, and the other brewing process is basically the same as the first label. The winerys wines are known for their lightness and gentleness, delicate and feminine taste; deep and strong color, complex aroma, with smoky and woody aromas, very elegant, tannins are smooth and soft, slowly blending in the mouth feeling wonderful.

This Classified 3rd Growth from Margaux, Chateau Giscours is produced on a 95 hectare vineyard. Giscours 2016 is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot. These grape varieties, experienced a very successful vintage with remarkable qualities.


Chateau Giscours 2016 is very dark, almost ink-like. The nose reveals concentrated aromas of black fruits, but is still quite shy. In the mouth, the wine is dense and ample, with weight from the tannins. The wine is straightforward and elegant, with contained power. A wine in the style of Cabernet Sauvignon is classy and remarkably precise.
