Vincent Girardins family had been engaged in vine-growing in Santenay, Burgundy in the 17th century. In 1980, Vincent, who was only 19 years old, inherited two hectares of his family's vineyard and started his own wine business ever since. In 2002, the natural winemaker Eric Germain joined the winery, and the wine style began to change, focusing on expressing the local terroir, natural, and the proportion of new wooden barrels was also reduced.

In 2012, Vincent Girardin had health problems, and his children did not want to take over the management of the winery. Vincent had to sell the product and sold the vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "Les Referts", Les Folatieres and Puligny-Montrachet. In the end, only the one hectare of vineyards remained and the winemaker Eric continued to help manage the winery. Since it is difficult to control the quality of one hectare of vineyards, Meursault-Charles, Meursault-Narvaux, Sous la Velle, Pommard-Vaumuriens were acquired at the end of 2014. Due to difficult quality control for one hectare of vineyards, four hectares of vineyards including Meursault-Charles, Meursault-Narvaux, Sous la Velle, Pommard-Vaumuriens, and Volnay were purchased at the end of 2014. In addition, he also buy grapes from grape growers for wine making. In the following two years, the winery was back on track and acquired another ten hectares of vineyards, gradually becoming one of the largest wine merchants in Burgundy.
