Château Pavie Macquin is a producer in the Saint-Émilion appellation with premier grand cru classé B status. Originally a part of the estates of 19th-Century négociant Ferdinand Bouffard, it was bought by Albert Macquin, who achieved individual acclaim as a pioneer in the use of grafted roots stocks to combat the phylloxera epidemic. Pavie Macquin now borders two other Pavie estates, Château Pavie and Château Pavie-Decesse, which are both owned by Gérard Perse. In the nature of its location in Saint-Émilion and the right bank of Bordeaux, the wine of Pavie Macquin is a Merlot-dominant Bordeaux red blend with a small amount of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
