Château Léoville Barton is a well-known winery located in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, France. It was purchased by Irishman Hugh Barton at the end of the 18th century and named after him. The soil of the vineyard is mainly composed of gravel, sand and clay, which provides good drainage and nutrient supply to the grapes. The main red grape varieties planted in the winery include Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon taking the lead. These varieties show elegance and structure in the climate and soil conditions of this region.

The wines of Château Léoville Barton are renowned for their rich, elegant and robust style. These wines often display complex aromas of black fruit, tobacco, vanilla and minerality. They have a rich mouthfeel and elegant tannins, showing good balance and long aging potential. Léoville Barton's wines often need some time to show their best, so they are ideal wines for aging. With its long history, outstanding wines and family tradition, it has become one of the most respected wineries in the Bordeaux region.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Léoville Barton needs a little swirling to coax out delicate notions of fresh blackberries, mulberries and cassis, plus touches of pencil shavings, clove oil, charcoal and black truffles. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers a great intensity of earth and mineral-laced black fruit flavors, supported by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering ferrous note. Give it a good 4-5 years in bottle and drink it over the next 20 years.
