Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s most consistent and celebrated négociants, with a range that is universally adored from its classic Bourgogne to the finest Grand Cru. Established when Louis-Henri Jadot bought the Beaune Premier Cru monopole Clos des Ursules in 1826, the company passed to the Gagey family, who eventually sold it their long-term importer to the US, Kobrand. The company now boasts over 130 hectares of vineyards stretching from Chablis to Beaujolais, but it’s the quality of the wines that have made them a household name.
==========================================
The Louis Jadot Bourgogne Aligoté is produced from juices or grapes from local growers and from our properties. It originates from Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais, Côte d’Or (Meursault and Chenôve). Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. They are then softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels from our cooperage (1/3 are new). Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling. Wine serving temperature 10-12. Aging potential 2-5 years, depending on the vintage
Fragrant, fruity, mineral and charming with aromas scents of fresh pear d’ Angou and apple, there’s a fine citrus grapefruit layer, a gentle mineral core suggesting white clay and limestone. Youthful, fresh and vibrant.
